Eagle Rock Plaza has been a neighborhood staple since it opened in the 1970s, but as more young people were moving to the area, its management company, CBRE, was looking to attract a fresh audience. I was asked to redesign the logo at the main entrance, using the existing structure. By creating a simple and bold type treatment, I was able to maximize the sign's space, and create a distinct typographic look that could extend to other materials around the mall, like banners, directories and ads.
